Fans of music in Zambia and Tanzania have been taken aback after two prominent names Harmonize and Chile One combined on a new song called “Hichilema”. The track has instantly generated social media buzz thanks to many fans not believing that the artists would record a song with such political undertones. The song was produced in support of Zambia president Hakainde Hichilema who also heads the United Party for National Development (UPND).
Another interesting detail is that the track employs the same harmonized instrumentation as a previous hit “Kwangwaru” by Harmonize, a popular hit that was originally released with a feature from Tanzanian hitmaker Diamond Platnumz, offering the new release a sense of familiarity but as well as a new political undertone.
